Wireless charging Alliance (WPC Alliance for short) is a cooperative organization composed of several independent companies. Qi standard is an international standard set by WPC for compatible wireless charging stand. Mobile phones, cameras, remote controls and all electronic products with the Qi logo will be compatible with all charging stands printed with the logo.
Qi authentication type:
1) Qi BPP certification:
The product supports power below 5W, uses Qi protocol, and must pass BPP certification.
2) Qi EPP certification:
The product supports more than 5W power, uses Qi protocol, and must pass EPP certification.
3) Qi ppde certification:
The product supports more than 5W power, uses Samsung private agreement ppde, and must pass BPP certification + ppde test (implemented from July 1, 2019).
The advantages of Qi certification:
1. It is proved that the performance of the product meets the requirements and achieves a certain degree of safety;
2. Products with Qi logo means that different brands and models of certified terminals can be compatible;
3. Increase the attention opportunities of high-quality buyers, especially in North America, Japan and South Korea;
4. Enhance the corporate image and product value, especially the current market of wireless charging products.
Qi certification process:
1. Consultation and communication before certification
2. Offer formally after providing product information
3. Customers confirm the quotation and provide the required documents as required
4. WPC Membership Application
5. Product specifications and other information submitted for review
6. Provide test samples for compliance testing in local laboratory
7. Submit samples for compatibility test
8. Final confirmation of product information
9. The product is registered on WPC website
Precautions for Qi certification:
1. Qi certification is only for WPC members, which means that manufacturers need to become members first;
2. Qi certification must be completed in the laboratory authorized by WPC;
3. Qi certification is a voluntary certification, not the requirements of local market regulations. Through Qi certification, products also need to meet the corresponding regulatory requirements, such as CE, ROHS, reach, FCC, etc;
4. At present, Qi Certification Rules for low power and 15W medium power products;
5. At present, the manufacturer uses Qi standard to produce products, and the patent technology fee is temporarily exempted. Whether the follow-up is free or not remains to be informed.
