Brazil Inmetro certification

Inmetro is Brazil's national accreditation body responsible for the development of Brazilian national standards. Most of Brazil's product standards are based on IEC and ISO standards. Manufacturers who need to export their products to Brazil should refer to these two sets of standards when designing their products. All products that meet the Brazilian standards and other technical requirements must be added with the mandatory Inmetro logo and the logo of the recognized third-party certification body in order to enter the Brazilian market.
The application of Inmetro logo can be divided into two categories: mandatory category and voluntary category, which are issued by certification authority (CB). In addition, the Brazilian government also stipulates that some products should be equipped with energy efficiency labels (smiley face labels), which are directly issued by immetro with no participation of certification bodies.
