Common chemical certification

ROHS
RoHS is a mandatory standard formulated by EU legislation. Its full name is the restriction of hazardous substances.
The standard has been officially implemented since July 1, 2006. It is mainly used to standardize the material and process standards of electronic and electrical products, so as to make it more conducive to human health and environmental protection. The purpose of this standard is to eliminate lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers in electrical and electronic products.
Reminder: if the product is not RoHS certified, it will cause incalculable damage to the manufacturer. At that time, no one will pay attention to the product and lose the market. If the product is lucky to enter the other party's market, once found out, it will encounter high fines and even criminal detention, which may lead to the closure of the whole enterprise.
Phthalate
It is mainly used for PVC materials to change PVC from hard plastic to elastic plastic and play the role of plasticizer. It is widely used in toys, food packaging materials, medical blood bags and hose, vinyl floor and wallpaper, cleaners, lubricants, personal care products (such as nail polish, hair spray, soap and shampoo) and hundreds of other products.
Reminder: on October 27, 2017, the list of carcinogens published by the international agency for research on cancer of the World Health Organization was preliminarily sorted for reference. Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate was included in the list of class 2B carcinogens.
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)
Due to its toxicity, genotoxicity, mutagenicity and carcinogenicity, it can cause a variety of hazards to human body, such as damage to respiratory system, circulatory system and nervous system, damage to liver and kidney. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are identified as the main organic pollutants affecting human health. It is an important monitoring object in environmental monitoring. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) exist in smoke due to incomplete combustion of organic fuel. It also exists in the lining of, creosote dumping and.
Reminder: Industrial and civil burners, automatic smoke exhaust, mineral fuels, diesel coal tar, asphalt of water supply pipeline, etc. shall be inspected.
Azo compound (azo)
Azo compounds (azo), many azo compounds have carcinogenic effects. For example, cream yellow once used to color margarine can induce liver cancer, which is prohibited; Methyl red as an indicator can cause bladder and breast tumors. Although some azo compounds are not carcinogenic, their toxicity is similar to that of nitro compounds and aromatic amines.
Reminder: azo free azo control has become the most important quality monitoring project in international textile and garment trade, and it is also one of the most basic quality indicators of ecological textiles. The Netherlands, Austria and Germany have successively adopted mandatory rules to prohibit the use of azo containing colorants in consumer goods( Leather and textiles must undergo azo test).
formaldehyde
It is usually colorless aqueous solution or gas with pungent smell. On October 27, 2017, formaldehyde was included in the list of class I carcinogens in the list of carcinogens published by the international agency for research on cancer of the World Health Organization. On July 23, 2019, formaldehyde was listed in the list of toxic and harmful water pollutants (the first batch).
Reminder: the indoor air quality standard (GB / T 18883-2002) implemented on March 1, 2003 is formulated to protect human health and prevent and control indoor air pollution. Formaldehyde is specified as 1H, and the mean value shall be less than or equal to 0.10mg/m ³。
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB)
It has no corrosion to metal, good electrical insulation and good heat resistance (1000 ℃ to 1400 ℃ for complete decomposition). PCB has a wide range of uses. It can be used as insulating oil, heat carrier and lubricating oil. It can also be used as an additive for many kinds of industrial products (such as various resins, rubber, binders, coatings, carbon paper, ceramic glaze, fire retardant, pesticide extender and dye dispersant). It has effects on skin, teeth, neurobehavior, immune function and liver, and has reproductive toxicity, teratogenicity and carcinogenicity.
Reminder: the prevention of carcinogen PCB is mainly to strengthen the control of carcinogens and reduce and avoid contact. For the large-scale environmental pollution that has been caused, effective measures should be taken in time to control it. On October 27, 2017, the list of carcinogens published by the international agency for research on cancer of the World Health Organization was preliminarily sorted for reference, and PCBs were included in the list of class I carcinogens.
SVHC
That is, substances of high concern, derived from EU REACH regulations. The Commission of EU Member States will determine which substances will be recognized as SVHC after research and discussion. As of July 16, 2019, the list of SVHC has been increased to 201.
Reminder: according to the provisions of REACH regulations, if the article contains substances in the SVHC candidate list, and the mass fraction and / or export volume of the substance meet certain requirements, the relevant responsibilities of the enterprise will be triggered.
California 65 proposal
(California Proposition 65)
The drinking water safety and toxic substances Enforcement Act of 1986 was issued in November 1986. Its purpose is to protect the residents of California and the drinking water source of the state, so that the water source does not contain substances known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive and development hazards, and truthfully inform the residents when such substances appear.
Reminder: the list of 65 controlled substances in California is issued by OEHHA and updated quarterly. There are more than 900 substances in the latest list. When conducting California 65 control, enterprises should first compare the substance control requirements determined in the existing litigation cases of such products, and then refer to this control to investigate the harmful substances in products.
Toxic element test of packaging materials
(Directive for Packaging Waste)
Commonly known as environmental protection packaging test, it was established by TPCH in 1992. It is basically consistent with the RoHS directive of EU packaging materials (the latest amended version of 94 / 62 / EC, 2004 / 12 / EC). The regulation stipulates that the sum of mercury, lead, cadmium and hexavalent chromium in packaging shall be less than 100 mg / kg.
Reminder: the regulation is not specifically aimed at toy products, but it has a wide influence in the United States. Most of the packages of toy products exported to the United States are required to meet the requirements of the regulation. Therefore, TPCH is also called packaging environmental protection test.
MSDS
That is, the database of chemical safety technical specifications is a document for chemical manufacturers and importers to clarify the physical and chemical characteristics of chemicals (such as pH value, flash point, flammability, reactivity, etc.) and possible hazards to users' health (such as carcinogenesis, teratogenicity, etc.).
Reminder: MSDS is a comprehensive legal document on the characteristics of chemicals provided to customers by chemical production or sales enterprises according to legal requirements. It can be prepared by the manufacturer according to relevant rules, but in order to ensure the accuracy and standardization of the report, it can apply to a professional organization for preparation.
Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS)
It is one of the most important chemical products in the 20th century. It is composed of fully fluorinated anions in perfluorinated acid sulfuric acid. It is widely used in the fields of industrial production and domestic consumption. Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is widely used in the production of surface antifouling agents such as textiles, leather products, furniture and carpets.
Reminder: according to the requirements of China's Ministry of ecological environment, the production, circulation, use, import and export of perfluorooctyl sulfonic acid and its salts and perfluorooctyl sulfonyl fluoride except for acceptable uses will be prohibited from March 26, 2019.
