Mechanical property test

Various mechanical property criteria of metal materials are determined by different mechanical tests. The elastic and inelastic properties and stress-strain properties of metals under stress belong to metal mechanical properties. In the process of developing new materials, improving material quality, designing and using metal parts, mechanical properties are the most important performance indexes and indispensable inspection items in the performance inspection of metal plastic processing products. Mechanical property tests generally include tensile test, torsion test, compression test, impact test, hardness test, stress relaxation test, fatigue test, etc. Stress relaxation test and fatigue test do not belong to the routine mechanical property test of materials.
Test items
Hardness test
Hardness is the ability of metal to resist deformation or fracture in the local volume of the surface. It is not only similar to the empirical relationship with the static strength and fatigue strength of materials, but also indirectly related to the process properties such as cold formability, machinability and weldability. Therefore, the hardness value has a certain reference significance for controlling the quality of material cold and hot processing technology.
Elasticity test
Static tension can measure the most basic mechanical properties of materials in the process of elastic deformation, plastic deformation and fracture, including elastic modulus, yield strength, tensile strength, elongation and reduction of area. These performance indexes are the inherent basic properties of materials and important basis in engineering design.
Impact test
Impact test can obtain dynamic performance indexes such as impact toughness and impact absorption energy. It is very sensitive to the brittleness tendency, metallurgical quality and internal defects in the use of materials. It is a very convenient method to check the brittleness tendency and metallurgical quality of materials.
